I am clinical child psychologist and have worked with many caregivers and teachers over the years, and I could not ask for a better teacher for my son than her. She takes an individualized approach and provides each child with the unique care and educational and emotional support that they need. Prior to starting at Isma Learning Center, my 3 year old son would not talk or even go near another child. Now he initiates play, shares, and has conversations with kids all the time! My son is very hesitant to try new things, and teacher fatouma has helped improve his confidence in so many different domains. She takes a strength based approach and capitalizes on what the kids can do to help them overcome what is hard. In the first few weeks, she assessed our son across motor, social-emotional, self help, and academic abilities and debriefed us on his strengths, areas of growth, and her plan on how to help him develop. She even takes the time to create extra materials for my son to improve at home. For example, he was having a difficult time with getting ready in the morning and she made us a morning and bedtime visual schedule! I especially love her particular focus on social emotional skills. Her techniques are evidenced-based - she relies on a routine, uses visuals, emphasizes positive language (what to do instead of what not to do) while setting limits, and constantly provides reinforcement. She genuinely cares for the kids and our son loves her in return. I could honesty go on and on...I HIGHLY recommend.
